Therapy, assessments & workplace support

Therapy and allied health supports for hidden disabilities and conditions.

We support people whose disability and daily effort may not be obvious to others. Our focus includes psychosocial disability, psychological injury and neurodivergence, with occupational therapy, functional capacity assessments and practical allied health support across the lifespan.

Hi, we’re In Context.

Therapeutic supports that fit your context.

Founded by a neurodivergent occupational therapist, In Context brings together clinical experience and an understanding of the effort behind everyday life. That perspective comes from working with people in therapy, completing functional capacity assessments and supporting psychological injury claims in the workplace. Our clinicians and contracted allied health assistants work with people on the things that matter to them. Living well looks different for everyone, and can change from day to day. We adapt therapy to where you are and what you need.

Who we support

Our focus is hidden disabilities across the lifespan, including psychosocial disability and the less visible support needs of people with autism and ADHD. We also support people experiencing mental health challenges, psychological injury or burnout that affects daily life.

You’re welcome here whether you’re late diagnosed, self diagnosed or still making sense of your experiences. We start with what you need in everyday life.

Adults

Capacity building therapy and practical skill building to improve daily living skills and support independence. This may include self care, preparing meals, managing routines and participating in the community.

Support with psychosocial disability, burnout recovery and returning to work, relationships and activities that matter to you. Your goals guide the work, with room to talk about the effort other people might miss.

What do we mean by hidden disabilities?

Hidden disabilities are disabilities that are not immediately apparent to other people. The impact can be substantial even when someone appears to be coping, and what a person can do may change from day to day.

Completing a task does not tell the whole story. We ask about the preparation, prompting, support and effort it takes, what happens afterwards, and whether it is manageable again tomorrow. Those details matter in therapy, in an assessment and at work.

Our experience is grounded in mental health, psychosocial disability, psychological injury and neurodivergence. People use different words for their experiences; you do not need to identify as disabled or have a diagnosis to enquire.

What does neuroaffirming mean?

Neuroaffirming practice respects the different ways people think, feel, communicate and experience the world. We recognise strengths alongside disability and support needs, and listen to how you understand your own experiences.

The same task can feel very different depending on the noise, instructions, expectations and energy it takes. We look at those details with you.

In practice, this can mean adjusting sensory demands, making space for different communication styles, or finding a pace that supports rest and participation. Your voice, choices and goals shape the support.

Our frameworks draw on research, occupational therapy and lived understanding. Allied health assistants help put agreed strategies into practice, under the guidance and supervision of treating clinicians.
